WHEN YOUR HANDS HURT, EVERYDAY LIFE BECOMES ANYTHING BUT "THUMBS UP."

The hand is an amazing instrument that allows us to perform countless tasks. But being on the front lines of our lives means that our hands are exposed to all sorts of potential injuries and disorders. The resulting pain can range from annoying to debilitating. Common conditions include:

Arthritis of the Hand and Wrist

Produces chronic and often debilitating pain due to inflammation of the hand and wrist joints, and in some instances may warrant joint replacement

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Occurs when the median nerve becomes compressed at the wrist as it passes through a narrow channel of bone and ligament called the carpal tunnel

Sports Injuries

Sports injuries are common occurrences in the U.S. Most sports injuries are caused by traumatic injury or overuse of muscles or joints. Many sports injuries can be prevented with proper conditioning and training, wearing appropriate protective gear, and using proper equipment. At Forsyth Regional Orthopaedic Center, we provide surgical treatment of sport- and fitness-related injuries to get patients back to the activities they enjoy the most, as quickly as possible.

Sports-related injuries include fractures, sprains, dislocated joints and lacerations, with the type of treatment dependent upon the nature and severity of the injury.
